Air Tightness Testing, Air Pressure Testing
- Air tightness testing & Air Pressure Testing is the identification and process to find and remove uncontrolled airflow(drafts)within a household. If uncontrolled airflow is found it can lead to air leakage and too much air leakage would result in higher CO2 emissions and a considerable loss of heat within the household. It is mandatory to reduce CO2 emissions to meet the new building regulations Part L and Air Tightness Testing / Air Pressure Testing will help you to achieve this. To meet the building regulations the following tests are required: Air Tightness Testing, Air Leakage Testing and Air Permeability Testing.
Air Leakage Testing, Air Leakage Tests
- Air Leakage Testing control / Air Leakage Tests are also an essential part of the building regulations Part L and must be implemented into new builds. Air Leakage Testing control is not only helpful for legislation purposes but it is also very beneficial for increasing efficiency and saving energy, help prevent decline of fabric and also reduce noise levels. This could also be used as a unique selling point for your property. Falcon Energy are Air Leakage Testing / Air Leakage Test professionals, please contact us for quote today!
Air Permeability, Air Permeability Tests
- Within a building the airtightness is known as 'air permeability' or it could be referred to as 'leakage rate', this is where air permeability & air permeability tests will need to be carried out. Air leakage is uncontrolled airflow through gaps or cracks in the fabric of the building. Any air leakage through gaps or cracks can seriously affect the buildings performance and decrease energy efficiency. As part of the building regulations Part L2 it is mandatory to carry out air permeability tests and correct any air leakage that may occur, making the building as airtight as possible. This not only complies with the building regulations but also helps to reduce CO2 and increases home efficiency. Falcon energy perform efficient air permeability tests to reduce CO2 emissions.
SAP | Sap Calculations & Sap Rating
- SAP & SAP Calculations ratings are the technical calculations that are required to produce a Predicted Energy Assessment(PEA) and an on Construction Energy Performance Certificate(OCEPC). Both of these reports abstract data from the SAP calculation. SAP calculations are a rating of your homes energy. They are used to calculate an overall score between 1 and 100 for the annual energy cost of: the homes building structure, the buildings heating and hot water system, the buildings internal lighting and any renewable technologies being used. If the SAP calculation rating is high it means the fuel running costs are low (100 represents a zero energy cost). SAP calculations are used to allow the comparison of the energy running costs of dwellings anywhere in UK.
Energy Performance Certificates|Epc
- Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are used to provide information on how to increase your homes energy efficiency and to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are required on all homes that are bought, sold or rented.Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) carry ratings comparing the current energy efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions which enables a potential figure to be calculated for what your home could achieve if improvements were carried out. EPCs also provide you with a recommendation document to inform you what could be implemented to help decrease the amount of energy you use in your home and your carbon dioxide emissions. This document will include the following:improvements suggestions, cost savings per year if implemented, an estimated result on how the recommendations would change the energy and carbon emission rating of the property if carried out. It is not essential to carry out the recommendations, however it is advised to carry out the recommendations to make you home more energy efficient which could make your property more attractive for sale or renting.
Sound Insulation Testing
- Sound Insulation Testing Sound insulation testing is a requirement of the building regulations on new builds or conversions to make sure your sound insulation between dwellings is adequate. This can only be carried out through testing known as sound insulation testing. The minimum requirements for sound insulation can be seen in the Approved Document E of the building regulations.Prior to sound insulation testing, the building should be essentially complete, with doors and windows in place. This will ensure that the sound insulation testing is only measuring the construction under test. Falcon Energy are sound insulation testing experts.
Code for Sustainable Homes
- Code for Sustainable Homes is the national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes that goes further than the building regulations to help promote higher standards of sustainable design. The code for sustainable homes is used to reduce carbon emissions and to create homes that are more sustainable. The code is used to measure the sustainability of new homes against categories of sustainable design which rates the entire home as a package. The areas covered include: Energy/CO2, water, materials, surface water runoff, waste, pollution, health and safety and management and ecology. For more information regard code for sustainable homes please contact us.
